A blog is a regularly updated website or web page, that is written in an informal or conversational style with diary-style text entries called "posts". Posts are typically displayed in reverse chronological order, so that the most recent post appears first, at the top of the web page.

Majority of blogs allow visitors to leave online comments, and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites.

A typical blog combines text, digital images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic.

There are many different types of blogs:

  • A personal blog is an ongoing online diary or commentary written by an individual, rather than a corporation or organization.
  • A collaborative blog is a type of weblog in which posts are written and published by more than one author. Most of the time, these blogs are based around a single uniting theme.
  • A blog can also be used for business purposes. They are called corporate blogs when used internally but they can also be use for external marketing, branding or public relations purposes.
